DIY: make your own crop top

Hey everyone :)
I was cleaning out my closet and found a t-shirt that I used to like a lot, but stopped wearing beacause I kind of grew out of it and it was too short to wear. So I thought instead of throwing it away, why not try and make a crop top?
Here's what I did:

1. Draw lines where you are going to cut (use a ruler to make sure it's symmetrical). You can choose how wide you want your straps to be. If you're using a t-shirt that a little small like mine was, make sure to cut it out a little lower on the sides.

2. Cut the sleeves of. When you're done cutting, pull a little along the edges to make sure the edges curl up a little.

3. Cut out the neck (only in the front, so don't keep the t-shirt folded while you do this!). You can choose if you want a round or a V-neck. Don't forget to pull at the edges!

4. Turn the shirt around and cut out the back. I chose too stay high because of the print, but you can cut deeper if you like.

5. Cut off the seems at bottom + pull at the edges to get the same rolled up look.

6. Now you can wear it! I'm wearing it with a high wasted skirt, but you can wear it any way you like. If you want to make a normal tank top, you can use the same techniques, you just need a larger t-shirt to begin with.

Ice Bra

Haha I just came across a new kind of bra that kind of made me laugh. In Japan due to the extremely hot and humid summers and because they are trying to save energy, Triumph has invented the "ice bra". The cups are filled with a gel that remains soft and supple even when frozen, giving the wearer a cool sensation. The bra features a pair of small fish tanks encompassing the breasts, a traditional Japanese wind chime and a mint leaf. The models are also wearing skirts made of mosquito nets and bamboo shades! What do you think? If you lived in a hot and humid place, would you consider it?

Spring shopping

So I did  a little more shopping today :D I actually set out to buy a Mother's Day present for my mom (which I actually did, I bought a white and brown bag for her) but of course I couldn't resist buying a couple of things for myself :p So what do you guys think?

Jane by design

Good news for all you fashion addicts out there! There's a new tv series that's all about fashion: "Jane by design". It's about a teenage girl who juggles high school and a career in high fashion. The main character is played by Erica Dasher, a young American actrice from Houston, Texas. She's not only an actrice but has also produced a documentary!

Following my last Whitney Port post is another 'The City'-related post :) Allie Crandell, the model from the same MTV show just really pulls me in. I think she's absolutely gorgeous even though she is a little on the (too) skinny side... I think her face is amaaaazing! She often has this sad look in her eyes... What do you guys think?

DIY: knitting a scarf

I just finished knitting my very first scarf :) It's the first knitting project that I've ever done myself. If you know anything about knitting: I always alternated 2 knit stitches and 2 purl stitches. I actually thought it was fun to do, kind of relaxing.. And I'm pretty happy with the result, what do you think?

Mesmerizing Model: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley came to my attention when she became the new face of Burberry Body (fragrence for women). I just love her expression in that picture! She is a British model and got her fame as a Victoria's Secret angel (since 2006). She also started presenting a short time after that and in 2011 she starred in "Transformers: Dark of the moon".
I am truly impressed by this girl! What do you think?

Pretty Little Liars is back!

Great news: Pretty Little Liars is back! The 14th episode of season 2 aired yesterday in the US and is now available on the internet for the rest of the world to see :)
Even though the story line isn't always that strong, the show is a must for all the fashonista's out there. The thing I love is that de four girls have very different characters and thus different fashion styles, but all the clothes are gorgeous! And it looks like they have a great sense of style in real life too, cause here's a picture of Lucy Hale (Aria) on the cover of Teen Vogue!
